Steve Ascher is Executive Vice President, Head of Development for A+E FACTUAL STUDIOS™. In this role, Ascher creates unscripted series, specials and documentaries for the A+E Global Media™ portfolio as well as develops series for external clients and the international marketplace.
A veteran producer and journalist, Ascher’s recent credits include the Emmy®-nominated Black Patriots: Heroes of the Revolution with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the critically acclaimed Unidentified™, both for The HISTORY® Channel. He also served as an executive producer alongside Monica Lewinsky on the documentary 15 Minutes of Shame for HBO Max. His team has produced hundreds of titles including RFK: The Kennedy Family Remembers, in partnership with Robert F. Kennedy’s children; Gretchen Carlson: Breaking the Silence; Aly Raisman: Darkness to Light; and The Proof Is Out There™. Ascher joined The HISTORY Channel in 2013 as an executive producer with oversight for series and specials including Forged in Fire®, Pawn Stars®, Ax Men® and Alcatraz: Search for the Truth.
Prior to joining A+E Global Media, he worked at NBC News, traveling the world and telling stories in places like Beijing, Dubai and Panama. Ascher lives in New York with his wife and three sons.
